Sider and Monica cover a lot of ground. Sider puts multi-model chat, browser-agent automation, page customization and image and video generation behind one entry point, plus YouTube summaries, ChatPDF, PDF and image translation, read-aloud, data analysis and audio transcription. Monica’s side covers an AI agent, deep research, slide generation, a browser operator, image and video generation, side-by-side webpage and PDF translation, a Memo knowledge base and search enhancement.
If your work really is spread across those tasks, that breadth saves real effort and you should pick them. If you mostly open the sidebar to ask what a page says, only a small part of that capability applies to you. Monica’s free tier runs 40 basic-model requests a day before you move up; Sider’s pricing page carries paid subscriptions only.

Once it fits how you work there is a pass — US$5 for 500 answers over 30 days, with Alipay and WeChat as a one-time 30-day purchase that simply expires. Where content goes
Sider and Monica are hosted services: the answer is generated on their servers, so the content has to get there first. Both declare in the Chrome Web Store that they handle website content.
PageGrok’s built-in AI also sends what you submit to our service to generate the answer. The difference is what happens next — the server does not store page text, questions or answers, and does not use them for training. Internal documents, client material and unpublished drafts are pages you would never paste into somebody else’s chat window anyway.
If some pages should not even reach our service, switch in settings to Ollama, LM Studio or oMLX on your own machine, or to your own API key. Page content then moves only between your browser and that model.
The details of webpage reading
PageGrok handles one situation — “I am looking at this page and I want to ask something” — so the details all sit inside that situation:
- whole-page reading and region selection, with selections covering several non-adjacent areas;
- three ready-to-click suggested questions after reading, replaceable with your own, up to five stored;
- follow-ups that reuse the parsed content instead of re-reading the page;
- streamed answers you can read as they generate.
It reads the text already rendered in your current tab. Content visible only after signing in, and pages rendered dynamically on the front end, are both in scope — if you can see the text in the tab, it can read it, and it never bypasses access controls.

What it does not do
PageGrok’s scope is a deliberate choice, and two parts of it are worth knowing before you install.
It does not touch your accounts. Nothing like Sider’s Claw or Monica’s browser operator — no clicking, no form filling, no scraping. Browser extensions hold broad permissions, and a read-only tool means you never have to wonder what it did inside your signed-in session.
It does not translate, draw, write or build slides. Monica renders source and translation side by side, and dedicated translation extensions do it well too. PageGrok does not rebuild any of it. Every bit of attention it saves goes into making sense of the page in front of you.
When to pick them
- You genuinely use AI to write, translate and generate images or video, and want one subscription to cover it;
- You need browser automation that clicks and fills forms for you;
- You want history and custom prompts synced across devices.
If that fits, Sider and Monica cover more ground.
If you mostly open the sidebar to read the page in front of you, do not want another monthly subscription, and have content that should not leave your machine, that is PageGrok’s case.
